After falling in back-to-back games last week, the junior varsity girls basketball team returned to the win column with a victory over Norfolk Saturday morning.
The Whalers (3-2) lost to Sacred Heart 41-33 last Wednesday and then to Dennis-Yarmouth at home Friday night 30-11 before taking out the Aggies 39-17.
“We worked as a team really well (against Norfolk). We ran the floor. We had some great passing and they really stepped up. Even from last night (against Dennis-Yarmouth), it was a huge improvement. This group is improving from the start of one game to the end of one game, which is really fun to see. Everyone scored, which is a huge plus for us,” head coach Adriene Lombardi said. “There is a good jumping point for us. We have a long week of practice and we are home next weekend.”
The Whalers are scheduled for a rematch against Sacred Heart Saturday in front of the home crowd.
