The junior varsity boys lacrosse team fell in a time-shortened game against Dennis-Yarmouth at home Thursday night, 6-3.

Also last week the Whalers lost at Barnstable 14-0.

The Whalers, who fell to 1-2 overall, took a break for spring vacation week, but will jump back into action Tuesday at Bridgewater-Raynham and then meet Plymouth South at home next Thursday.

“We definitely want to take the next two. It is definitely a learning year. We have a good balance of kids that have played and do well and new guys who are stepping up their game. We want to finish the season better than .500,” head coach Mark Latter said. “We definitely have a good chance at winning. We just want to go into every game and be close so that we can win.”

Against Dennis-Yarmouth last Thursday the Whalers were thrown off-balance in the shortened game against the visiting Dolphins. With limited time available before the final fast ferry was scheduled to depart, the two squads played a 25-minute running-time first half and a 20-minute running-time second half. The lack of quarters and time stoppage on penalty calls created a different flow to the game.
