The girls varsity lacrosse team dropped two games to top-level programs this week on the road, falling at Bourne 15-5 last Wednesday and at Cohasset 13-5 Tuesday.

The Whalers, who fell to 4-8 overall this season, have a busy week of upcoming games as they look to finish out the season strong. Nantucket is scheduled to travel to Dartmouth this afternoon, host Sturgis Friday and Bishop Stang Saturday morning.

“Bishop Stang and Dartmouth will be tough games. They definitely will need their entire team to be present and healthy in order for them to have successful games against these opponents,” head coach Amy Knapp said.

The Whalers were shorthanded Tuesday at Cohasset. Missing three regular players, Nantucket called up three junior varsity players, leaving the second squad playing with no substitutes in a simultaneous game.
