JV girls lacrosse drops final two games

The junior varsity girls lacrosse team dropped the final two games of the season this week, falling at Barnstable 7-6 Friday and at Dartmouth 15-8 Monday.

The Whalers, who showed improvement over the course of the season, culminating in their first win last week against Plymouth South, finished the season at 1-8.

“We started with 16 players who had never played the game of lacrosse before. It was a slow beginning. It took some time of them getting used to playing as a team, but (against Barnstable), they were playing like a team, passing the ball. It wasn’t just an individual game. It was a team game,” head coach Jessica Marabella said.

Following the win at home over Plymouth South last week, the Whalers played well at Barnstable Friday afternoon.
