(Sept. 24, 2009) It has been quite a while since the Whalers won a football game. But Saturday night, the home team found its way into the win column for the first time in almost two years with a commanding 27-6 victory over Mayflower Small opponent Old Colony.
“I think we executed a little better for the most part,” head coach John Aloisi said. “I thought our resilience was good because we were backed up a couple times and they just kept playing hard which was great. The team was inside the five a couple of times and we didn’t let up which I was happy to see that.”
The last victory for the Nantucket football team came at Diman Nov. 10, 2007. The last win at home came over Tri County Nov. 2 of the same year.
