(Oct. 1, 2009) The varsity field hockey team continued to dominate its opposition this week, defeating perennial playoff contender Mashpee 3-0 on the road Thursday and Division I foe Norwood 4-0 Saturday.

The Whalers, who improved to 6-1 overall this season, have shut out five of seven opponents so far, but the two shutouts this week were key wins against top-quality opponents.

“With these wins the girls’ confidence level has just jumped another rung on the ladder. They feel they can compete with anyone. Their confidence is out there and they are all working so well together,” head coach Lori Moran said. “They really want to continue to work hard to keep piling the wins on.”
