Gymnastics head coach Richelle D’Elia Beaudette spots Delly Garneau on the balance beam during gymnastics practice Monday night in the Cyrus Peirce School gymnasium.

The Nantucket gymnastics team got to work last week, building strength and flexibility in preparation for another challenging season. The Whalers’ squad is constantly focused on individual improvement and with returning senior experience and leadership, should continue on that track this winter.

The Whalers opened practices in the middle school gymnasium last Monday.

“We are really focusing on developing our strengths and flexibility as well as developing our skills on each of the events so we can begin to develop routines. I am hoping once the girls get comfortable on the equipment, by the second or third week we could get into developing routines,” head coach Richelle D’Elia Beaudette said.
