Bats come alive in win over Southbridge

(April 25, 2013) After a slow offensive start to the season, the varsity baseball team’s bats woke up in a big way last Thursday, plating 12 runs in a 12-9 victory over Southbridge High School in the consolation game of the four-team Southbridge Tournament.

Nantucket (2-3, 1-2 Cape and Islands League) was scheduled to play Pope John Paul II Tuesday and then yesterday on the road, too late for this edition of Sports, but the game was canceled first due to inclement weather and then poor field conditions.
