(Feb. 7, 2013)Balanced scoring led the boys varsity basketball team to a pair of much-needed wins this week, as Nantucket beat Sturgis West 71-47 on the road Monday, and Upper Cape Tech 73-65 Saturday at home.

The Whalers (7-8, 5-4 Cape & Islands League) now have a few days off before hosting Cape Tech Monday and traveling to Hull Friday, Feb. 15. The Whalers close out the regular season Monday, Feb. 18 at home against Hull.

Nantucket started slowly against the winless Navigators Monday, trailing Sturgis West 11-7 at the end of the first quarter.
