Whalers roll to third straight win

(Jan. 26, 2012) Heading into a crucial showdown with Cape Cod Academy Friday, the boys varsity basketball team is riding a three-game winning streak that includes double-digit victories over Sturgis and Cape Tech.

Nantucket (5-5, 4-1 Cape & Islands League) beat Sturgis 57-36 at home Friday, and dispatched Cape Tech 66-56 Tuesday on the road. The Whalers currently sit in a three-way tie for the league lead with CCA and Chatham.

In addition to tomorrow’s home game against the Seahawks, Nantucket is scheduled to face Pope John Paul at home Tuesday.
