(Sept. 20, 2012) The boys’ varsity soccer team suffered its first loss and gave up its first goals of the season Saturday, losing 4-2 to Archbishop Williams in a heated home matchup.
“It was two teams trying to put their stamp on the game. Good teams need to be able to play physical and try to set a tone. It’s good to see our team can do that when needed, but it’s got to be done fair and in the right way, within the rules of the game,” head coach Rich Brannigan said.
Next up for Nantucket is another tough Catholic Central League team in 2011 Div. 3 South champion Cardinal Spellman, which is scheduled to visit the island Saturday, and a road game against Cape Cod Tech Monday.
