(Oct. 4, 2012) Soccer matches between Nantucket and Bourne have been heating up in recent years, and the first tilt between the two teams this year was no exception. The boys varsity soccer team tied the Canalmen 2-2 at home in a Saturday matinee that showcased the budding rivalry.
“All of our games (against Bourne) in the last three-plus years have been like one-goal games. They’ve been really good. They’ve been great matchups,” Nantucket head coach Rich Brannigan said.
The Whalers (6-1-1, 5-0 Cape & Islands League) were scheduled to play league foe Pope John Paul II yesterday on the road, too late for this edition of Sports.
