Field hockey off to a hot start

(Sept. 12, 2013) The varsity field hockey team went 2-0 in its opening week of the season, winning easily in both contests, 7-0 against Fairhaven Saturday and 9-0 against Sturgis. The Whalers were so dominant that they did not allow a shot on goal in either game.

That stat probably won’t last long, however, as the Whalers' toughest opponent of the se­son, Sandwich, a Div. 1 powerhouse, will host Nantucket Monday.
