Field hockey remains undefeated with two wins

(Sept. 20, 2012) The varsity field hockey team remains unbeaten this season following a 2-0 win over Div. 1 Barnstable last Wednesday, and a 7-2 romp over Div. 1 Brockton Saturday in which the Whalers took care of business, but looked less sharp.

Div. 2 Nantucket (3-0), which is not affiliated with a league, was scheduled to play another Div. 1 opponent, Dennis-Yarmouth, yesterday at home, too late for this edition of Sports, before hosting Hull Saturday and traveling to Fairhaven Monday.

After shutting out the Red Raiders earlier in the week, the Whaler defense looked sloppy against Brockton Saturday, giving up 20 penalty corners.
