(Sept. 19, 2013) The varsity field hockey team had nearly a week off between games, but picked up right where they left off, crushing Sturgis West 7-0 and once again not allowing a shot on goal for the entire game.
“We worked a lot this week on conditioning, running a lot. We had a good week of practice actually,” head coach Lori Moran said.
It showed. But Moran isn’t ready to crown her team a dynasty just yet as the parity in the Whalers' (3-0) schedule this year creates some major mismatches. The team’s biggest test of the season comes tomorrow at home in a showdown with Sandwich at 4 p.m., one of the area's top Div. 1 programs.
