(Feb. 14, 2013) After a week off, the girls varsity basketball team wasted no time jumping back into action, clinching co-champion honors in the Cape & Islands League with its sixth straight win, 49-22 over Cape Tech Tuesday.

The Whalers (12-5, 9-1 C&I) were scheduled to face non-league rival and perennial Div. 4 powerhouse Cohasset on the road yesterday, too late for this edition of Sports, to close out the season. Div. 4 South sectional playoff seedings will be announced Friday, Feb. 22.
