(Dec. 6, 2012) The Lady Whalers basketball team finished last season on a high note, with a 9-1 Cape & Islands League record, a stepping stone from which new head Coach Travis Lombardi plans to build. With a team comprised of experienced returning players and talented young athletes, Lombardi plans to wear down his Cape and Islands opponents by utilizing his entire squad.

“We’re young in a sense with a freshman, no sophomores, five juniors and three seniors, but the incoming freshman class is a talented group of girls. They learned a lot of fundamentals in the middle school program through Coach Lori Moran. They came in knowing the basics of basketball, which has made the first week of practice a pleasant surprise.”
