(March 28, 2013) The girls varsity lacrosse team wrapped up last season with a loss to Canton in the preliminary round of the Div. 2 East tournament. This year the Whalers will look to their returning seniors and a 31-player squad to avenge the tournament defeat and improve on their .500 record.

Nantucket is scheduled to attend an informal scrimmage tournament Saturday in Falmouth, where it will play 30-minute games against Sandwich, Fairhaven, Nauset and Falmouth. The Whalers will open the regular season Friday, April 5 on the road against Mashpee before traveling to New Bedford April 8 and hosting Barnstable April 10.
