(April 4, 2013) The girls varsity lacrosse team spent last Saturday at Falmouth High School dueling several Cape Cod teams in a “jamboree” scrimmage session.
Scoring was informal, as the Whalers fell to Sandwich 3-1, rolled over Fairhaven 7-0 and lost to both Nauset and Falmouth, 4-3 and 5-1 respectively.
Nantucket is scheduled to officially open the season Friday on the road at Mashpee in a nonleague faceoff. The Whalers will also face New Bedford on the road Monday before returning home Wednesday to host league foe Barnstable.
