(Sept. 20, 2012) Even in a losing effort, head coach Jorge Rojas was happy with the way the girls varsity soccer team played against Div. 1 powerhouse Barnstable Monday. Earlier in the week, the Whalers continued to showcase their offensive firepower in an 11-1 victory over Sturgis West last Wednesday.

The Whalers (3-2, 3-0 Cape & Islands League) were scheduled to take on Sturgis on the road yesterday, too late for this edition of Sports, before hosting Cape Cod Tech Monday.

Prior to Monday’s 4-1 loss to Barnstable, the Whalers had outscored their opponents 24-6.
