(Oct. 4, 2012) The varsity golf team had a solid outing against Cape Cod Academy Tuesday at New Seabury Golf Course. The only problem? The Seahawks shot the lights out, defeating Nantucket by a final score of 36.5 to 17.5.
“The frustrating thing was, our guys did pretty good,” head coach Peter MacKay said. “Here’s an example. Marshall (Shaffar-Roggeveen) in the number two spot, shot a 39, and he lost 6-to-3.”
Shaffar-Roggeveen’s opponent from Cape Cod Academy also shot a 39, but was even par going into the ninth hole which he triple-bogeyed.
Emmet Daly, playing in the three spot, shot a 42 and lost 5.5-to-3.5 to his opponent, who also shot a 39.
