Golf off to slow start against tough competition

(Sept. 12, 2013) Coming into the season with high hopes following a successful campaign last year, the Whalers’ varsity golf team opened with a pair of league losses this week. Head coach Peter Mackay, however, isn’t ready to panic just yet.

Although the Whalers fell 32.5-21.5 last Thursday to Pope John Paul II and 28-26 to Cape Cod Academy Tuesday, both matches were on the road against the best the Cape & Islands League has to offer.
