9/30/10: Whalers remain undefeated
The girls varsity field hockey team remains undefeated on the season, improving its record this week to 4-0-1 with three shutout road victories: 1-0 over Mashpee Friday, 3-0 over Hull Saturday and 3-0 over Fairhaven Monday.
9/23/10: Field hockey gets first win of the season
The varsity field hockey team earned its first win of the season Saturday in a low-scoring affair, knocking off Mashpee 1-0 at home. “I was very happy with our performance,” said head coach Lori Moran.

Despite dominating the majority of play, the var sity field hockey team tied Pembroke 1-1 in its season opening game Saturday at home.
9/9/10: Field hockey looking to switch systems
After closing out a successful season last year at 14-3-2, the Nantucket field hockey team is gearing up for what they hope will be another strong season.
With 34 girls showing up for preseason training, 11 of them freshmen, head coach Lori Moran said this year’s varsity team will be changing systems for the first time in two years

The junior varsity field hockey team wrapped up a successful season with two more victories this week, defeating Mashpee 5-0 last Thursday and New England Christian Academy 4-1 Saturday.

The varsity field hockey team got a taste of playoff atmosphere Monday afternoon when it traveled to Cohasset, and in one of the most challenging games of the season, came away with a 1-0 victory.

The junior varsity field hockey team scored two more shutout victories this week against quality programs, defeating Marshfield 5-0 Sunday and Cohasset 2-0 Monday.
10/22/09: Field hockey gets shutout win
The varsity field hockey team has rarely given the opposition a chance this season. The playoff-bound Whalers squad tallied its eighth shutout in 12 games this season with a 5-0 victory over visiting Ursuline Academy Saturday afternoon.
10/15/09: Field hockey ties up playoff berth
With a 3-1 victory over Fairhaven Saturday and a 2-2 tie against St. Peter-Marian Monday, the Whalers are guaranteed a record of .500 or better and have therefore qualified for the fall dance.

The varsity field hockey team was looking for a challenge on its schedule this season and they certainly got their wish when they went up against Division I Falmouth Friday. The Whalers held their own, but were dominated for the first time this season in a 1-0 loss.

The junior varsity field hockey team ran into a strong Falmouth program Friday, and after a scoreless battle through most of the game, lost 1-0 on a goal late in the second half.

The varsity field hockey team continued to dominate its opposition this week, defeating perennial playoff contender Mashpee 3-0 on the road Thursday and Division I foe Norwood 4-0 Saturday.

The junior varsity field hockey team split two games this week, defeating Mashpee on the road 4-0 Thursday before losing for the first time this season 1-0 against Norwood Saturday at home.
09/24/09: Field hockey gets win over Fairhaven
After coasting easily through the first two games of the season, the varsity field hockey team was challenged this week, losing its first game at Marshfield 1-0 last Wednesday, before defeating Chatham easily 9-1 Friday and Fairhaven in a close 3-0 game Saturday.
09/24/09: JV field hockey earns back-to-back shutouts
The junior varsity field hockey team won its first two games of the season this week with shutout victories over Fairhaven 6-0 at home Saturday and Marshfield 2-0 on the road Wednesday.
09/17/09: Field hockey swipes second shutout win
There is little question that the Whalers field hockey team will be able to put some goals on the scoreboard this season. In the second display of its high-powered offense, the varsity squad picked up its second win of the season 13-0 at Sturgis Monday.

09/03/09: Varsity defeats Dedham 3-0 in scrimmage
In the first game action of the fall season, the Whalers easily defeated Dedham in a scrimmage at home Tuesday afternoon 3-0. It was the first time Nantucket has defeated the Marauders in the annual preseason match-up.
