Eighth-place finish for gymnastics

The gymnastics team competed in the Cranberry League Championships Saturday at Somerset North Elementary School and finished with a team total 109.65 points.


The 16-team Cranberry League is divided into two divisions based on season scores for competition in the championship meet. The Whalers competed against the eight lower-scoring teams in the league and finished eighth overall.


Rockland/Hanover took first place in the division with 134.85 points. Somerset/Bishop Connolly finished second with 128.35. In the lead division, Barnstable finished at the top of the pack with 146.9 followed by Case/Seekonk at 144.35.
